Luke Altmyer

One of the nation’s top-ranked college quarterbacks as a junior and a 2024 All-Big Ten honoree, Luke led Illinois to a program-tying best ten wins, a victory over #14 South Carolina in the Citrus Bowl, and a #16 national ranking — the Illini’s highest year-end ranking since 2011. Along the way, he earned multiple national honors for his play, earning a spot in the Davey O’Brien Award Class of 2024 as one of the top quarterbacks in college football. Luke has earned a reputation for his clutch play, leading all college quarterbacks in game-winning drives, including three in the final two minutes.

As a sophomore, Luke ranked among the top five Big Ten quarterbacks in total offense, passing yards per game, and rushing yards. A 2021 Under Armour All-American honoree, Luke was a two-time all-state selection as a junior and senior in Mississippi where he accounted for nearly 5,000 passing yards and 53 touchdowns.

Luke was ranked a Top 5 player in the state of Mississippi during his career at Starkville HS by 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN, and a Top 10 quarterback nationally for the 2021 class after being rated a four-star prospect by all major recruiting sites.

Luke holds a degree in communication from the University of Illinois. A Starkville, MS native, he is the son of Chad and Betsy Altmyer and has two brothers, Steele and Whit.
